Friends

If you have everything money can buy and have no friends, you have nothing.

These are some of our friends.

Aren't they cute??

No,  it's not Easter, but what better place to start this page than with a picture of Bob and Gale Caron.  We had only just met them when they came to visit.  At Christmas you can often see them dressed as Santa and Mrs. Claus.

I've known Carol Geiger since Grammar School days in Cranford, NJ and we still keep in close touch although we do not see each other often enough.  Before her husband of 50 years passed away recently we had some really wonderful times together.  She's very special.

This is 'The Gang". We play cards, eat out, celebrate birthdays and generally hang out together.  In the upper right are Richard and Dot Finger, special friends with whom we occasionally take short trips.  Next to them are Bob and Gale Caron again - isn't his face perfect for Santa?  And next are Babe and Larry Schultz.  Babe is always so pleasant and Larry doesn't always look as grumpy as he does in this picture.

Eleanor and Allan Wandelt, whom I've known since high school days back in Cranford, NJ.  They are the reason we live at the lake and are lots of fun to be with.  Eleanor doesn't know a stranger!  Edie and Neil Dick are two beautiful people who you can count on when  you need some help.  Edie always has a smile for everyone.

Evelyn Sartell  who is always there for you, loves to bake and gives me sugar free cakes!

Jimmy Bowes and Adele Frischman.  You rarely see one without the other.  Adele is never without her knitting and has a heart as big as all outdoors and Jimmy is a regular "Mr. Fixit"

George and Jean Young.  The perfect hosts.  I love to go to  their house for dinner and cards.  George is known as "Georgie Porgie" and  just celebrated his 83rd birthday.  And Sandy and Gene McGinness, great card players and fun people to be around.  Gene  knows zillions of corny jokes

Evelyn and Pete Martin.  They moved to Roanoke, but we still see them and have been guests at their Florida home. Pete is a Master Gardener.  And Dick and Pat West. I hear that they are 'relocating' giant snapping turtles away from their cove. They occasionally sub when one of the gang can't make it to cards.  Pat writes great limericks.  Dave and Joan Talbot are the reason we are in the Smith Mountain Lake Wine Tasters.  They are great party people and fun to be around. Dave is also a Master Gardener and really in the know when it comes to wines.
